David Gilliam is Founder and Principal of David P. Gilliam & Associates, and an independent financial advisor with LPL Financial. With nearly three decades of experience in the financial services industry, he is experienced in individual financial counseling, retirement planning, cash flow analysis, fee-based asset management strategies, and estate planning. Working closely with clients, he develops customized strategies that align with their unique goals, always offering objective recommendations.
David first entered the industry in 1986, working as an advisor with a number of large national wirehouses and regional broker-dealers. With a desire to provide a wider range of non-proprietary products, offer objective advice, and work independently, he founded his own firm and joined LPL Financial in 1994. Since then, he has enjoyed the personal interactions with his clients and the trusted relationships that have developed over the course of many years.
David holds FINRA Series 7, 31, 63, and 24 securities registrations through LPL Financial. He received a Bachelor of Science in Education from Ball State University. Outside of the office, David and his wife of nearly four decades, Karen, enjoy spending time with their two sons, daughters-in-law, and three grandchildren. In his spare time, David enjoys woodworking, and water and snow skiing. A musician at heart, he plays the piano at home and at church, and plays trombone in local ensembles and bands.
